KJV : Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;
YLT : And it cometh to pass, after the death of Saul, that David hath returned from smiting the Amalekite, and David dwelleth in Ziklag two days,

KJV : It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and [so] it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, on the third day, that lo, a man hath come in out of the camp from Saul, and his garments [are] rent, and earth on his head; and it cometh to pass, in his coming in unto David, that he falleth to the earth, and doth obeisance.

ESV : And on the third day, behold, a man came from Saul's camp, with his clothes torn and dirt on his head. And when he came to David, he fell to the ground and paid homage.
ERVEN : Then, on the third day, a young soldier from Saul's camp came to Ziklag. His clothes were torn, and he had dirt on his head. He came to David and bowed with his face to the ground.

MOV : ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: നീ എവിടെ നിന്നു വരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോരികയാകുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.
YLT : And David saith to him, `Whence comest thou?` and he saith unto him, `Out of the camp of Israel I have escaped.`

RSV : David said to him, "Where do you come from?" And he said to him, "I have escaped from the camp of Israel."

ERVEN : David asked him, "Where have you come from?" The man answered, "I just came from the Israelite camp."

MOV : ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: കാര്യം എന്തായി? പറക എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: ജനം പടയിൽ തോറ്റോടി; ജനത്തിൽ അനേകർ പട്ടുവീണു; ശൌലും അവന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനുംകൂടെ പട്ടുപോയി എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
YLT : And David saith unto him, `What hath been the matter? declare, I pray thee, to me.` And he saith, that `The people hath fled from the battle, and also a multitude hath fallen of the people, and they die; and also Saul and Jonathan his son have died.`
RV : And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, The people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

ERVEN : David asked him, "Please tell me, who won the battle?" The man answered, "Our people ran away from the battle. Many of them were killed in the battle. Even Saul and his son Jonathan are dead."

MOV : വർത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു ദാവീദ്: ശൌലും അവന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനും പട്ടുപോയതു നീ എങ്ങനെ അറിഞ്ഞു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

MOV : വർത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ യദൃച്ഛയാ ഗിൽബോവപർവ്വതത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നപ്പോൾ ശൌൽ തന്റെ കുന്തത്തിന്മേൽ ചാരിനില്ക്കുന്നതും തേരും കുതിരപ്പടയും അവനെ തുടർന്നടുക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു;
KJV : And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
YLT : And the youth who is declaring [it] to him saith, I happened to meet in mount Gilboa, and lo, Saul is leaning on his spear; and lo, the chariots and those possessing horses have followed him;
RV : And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and the horsemen followed hard after him.

ERVEN : The young soldier said, "I happened to be on Mount Gilboa. I saw Saul leaning on his spear. The Philistine chariots and horse soldiers were coming closer and closer to Saul.

MOV : അവൻ പിറകോട്ടു നോക്കി എന്നെ കണ്ടു വിളിച്ചു: അടിയൻ ഇതാ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here [am] I.
YLT : and he turneth behind him, and seeth me, and calleth unto me, and I say, Here [am] I.
RV : And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.

ERVEN : Saul looked back and saw me. He called to me and I answered him.

MOV : നീ ആരെന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ ഒരു അമാലേക്യൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he said unto me, Who [art] thou? And I answered him, I [am] an Amalekite.

ERVEN : Then Saul asked me who I was. I told him that I was an Amalekite.

MOV : അവൻ എന്നോടു: നീ അടുത്തുവന്നു എന്നെ കൊല്ലേണം; എന്റെ ജീവൻ മുഴുവനും എന്നിൽ ഇരിക്കകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു പരിഭ്രമം പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life [is] yet whole in me.
YLT : `And he saith unto me, Stand, I pray thee, over me, and put me to death, for seized me hath the arrow, for all my soul [is] still in me.
RV : And he said unto me, Stand, I pray thee, beside me, and slay me, for anguish hath taken hold of me; because my life is yet whole in me.
RSV : And he said to me, `Stand beside me and slay me; for anguish has seized me, and yet my life still lingers.'
ASV : And he said unto me, Stand, I pray thee, beside me, and slay me; for anguish hath taken hold of me, because my life is yet whole in me.
ESV : And he said to me 'Stand beside me and kill me, for anguish has seized me, and yet my life still lingers.'
ERVEN : Then Saul said, 'Please kill me. I am hurt badly. And I am about to die anyway.'

MOV : അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവനെ കൊന്നു; അവന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ ശേഷം അവൻ ജീവിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ തലയിലെ കിരീടവും ഭുജത്തിലെ കടകവും ഞാൻ എടുത്തു ഇവിടെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that [was] upon his head, and the bracelet that [was] on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.
YLT : And I stand over him, and put him to death, for I knew that he doth not live after his falling, and I take the crown which [is] on his head, and the bracelet which [is] on his arm, and bring them in unto my lord hither.`
RV : So I stood beside him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.

KJV : Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that [were] with him:

ERVEN : They were very sad and cried. They did not eat until evening. They cried because Saul and his son Jonathan were dead. David and his men cried for the Lord's people, and they cried for Israel. They cried because Saul, his son Jonathan, and many Israelites had been killed in battle.

MOV : ദാവീദ് വർത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: നീ എവിടുത്തുകാരൻ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ ഒരു അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്റെ മകൻ, ഒരു അമാലേക്യൻ എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence [art] thou? And he answered, I [am] the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
YLT : And David saith unto the youth who is declaring [it] to him, `Whence [art] thou?` and he saith, `Son of a sojourner, an Amalekite, I [am].`
RV : And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

ERVEN : Then David talked with the young soldier who had told him about Saul's death. David asked, "Where are you from?" The young soldier answered, "I am the son of a foreigner. I am an Amalekite."

MOV : ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനെ സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു കയ്യോങ്ങുവാൻ നിനക്കു ഭയം തോന്നാഞ്ഞതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD’S anointed?
YLT : And David saith unto him, `How wast thou not afraid to put forth thy hand to destroy the anointed of Jehovah?`
RV : And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to put forth thine hand to destroy the LORD-S anointed?
RSV : David said to him, "How is it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the LORDS anointed?"
ASV : And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to put forth thy hand to destroy Jehovahs anointed?
ESV : David said to him, "How is it you were not afraid to put out your hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?"
ERVEN : David said to the young soldier, "Why were you not afraid to kill the Lord's chosen king?"

MOV : പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ വിളിച്ചു: നീ ചെന്നു അവനെ വെട്ടിക്കളക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, [and] fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.
YLT : And David calleth to one of the youths, and saith, `Draw nigh -- fall upon him;` and he smiteth him, and he dieth;
RV : And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.
RSV : Then David called one of the young men and said, "Go, fall upon him." And he smote him so that he died.
ASV : And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him, so that he died.
ESV : Then David called one of the young men and said, "Go, execute him." And he struck him down so that he died.
ERVEN : Then David told the Amalekite, "You are responsible for your own death. You said you killed the Lord's chosen king, so your own words prove you are guilty." Then David called one of his young servants and told him to kill the Amalekite. So the young Israelite killed him.

MOV : അവൻ അവനെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു. ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: നിന്റെ രക്തം നിന്റെ തലമേൽ; യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനെ ഞാൻ കൊന്നു എന്നു നീ നിന്റെ വായ് കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said unto him, Thy blood [be] upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD’S anointed.
YLT : and David saith unto him, `Thy blood [is] on thine own head, for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I -- I put to death the anointed of Jehovah.`
RV : And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD-S anointed.
RSV : And David said to him, "Your blood be upon your head; for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, `I have slain the LORDS anointed.'"

KJV : (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah [the use of] the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
YLT : and he saith to teach the sons of Judah `The Bow;` lo, it is written on the book of the Upright: --
RV : And he bade them teach the children of Judah {cf15i the song of} the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jashar.
RSV : and he said it should be taught to the people of Judah; behold, it is written in the Book of Jashar. He said:

MOV : യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ പ്രതാപമായവർ നിന്റെ ഗിരികളിൽ നിഹതന്മാരായി; വീരന്മാർ പട്ടുപോയതു എങ്ങനെ!
KJV : The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!
YLT : `The Roebuck, O Israel, On thy high places [is] wounded; How have the mighty fallen!
RV : Thy glory, O Israel, is slain upon thy high places! how are the mighty fallen!

KJV : Tell [it] not in Gath, publish [it] not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
YLT : Declare [it] not in Gath, Proclaim not the tidings in the streets of Ashkelon, Lest they rejoice -- The daughters of the Philistines, Lest they exult -- The daughters of the Uncircumcised!
